The road up toward beartooth pass has been cleared at least to Long Lake from the Wyoming side. I usually park just past Top of the World store and ride the south side of the highway. There is still 4 - 5 feet of snow in the area.

beartooth pass

Sure wish there was wind in the forecast for this weekend....I have a feeling it'll go fast.
...I'm heading up. Unfortunately, that is a couple days away.
I rode Top of the World this beautiful, sunny day. The snow is now 3 to 4 feet yet still smooth with no cupping. The winds were light from the NW and I tried out my new 14 which was GREAT! The lake is open water on the south end and the ice is blue. I would guess the ice will be gone in a couple weeks. Little bear creek is flowing from about the store area but everything to the east is still in good shape.
...before all the snow melts! How far do they have it plowed? I'm afraid there won't be a whole lot left for memorial day weekend...

The road is plowed all the way through but the gates are closed. The park service was hauling a bunch of equipment off the hill. I think the gates will be opened Memorial weekend. Thursday was sunny and around 70 degrees. The snow has melted about a foot this week and is getting rotten in the shallow spots and there is standing water in some places. Chain Lakes are all blue now too!
