Fool's errand? Jackson/Mt Haggin

Couldn't keep my reservation for the big event a few weeks ago - they were kind enough at the Hot Springs Lodge to let me reschedule, so I'm driving from Billings just to check out the valley, see Mt Haggin area. No idea what to expect after Tropical week.

Water, huh? Just got my snowboard tuned!

I'm sure Haggin has plenty of

I'm sure Haggin has plenty of snow still. Should be good.

The Bighorns are so

The Bighorns are so incredibly close. Why go all the way to Jackson? Sunny, steady SW winds up there this weekend. No need to hurry as you'd want the snow to warm up & soften. Bikini clad girls everywhere tanning.

Just to check it out!

Once our house gets sold and wife makes it to Billings, will be staying closer for kiting. Roaming while I can! Planning Bighorns next - after get two weekends of work stuff done.

Think I saw ?Noah way off in the distance well after 2 pm Saturday. Cautious about new territory, and never 16'd on snow, so drove on - he was at least 1.5 miles up from the road.

Work hard, play harder!

My 2 cents worth: Sunday, the snow was marginal at Haggin...lotta sun lately. Disco reported 3 inches on Monday; I don't know if Haggin got any of that - definitely would help.

How's it looking out there?

Heading to West Yellowstone tomorrow and I'd like to do some snow kiting on the way. Think it will be worth it to stop at Hagan or should I leave a little earlier and get myself to Raynolds/IP?

Anyone else planning on being out there manana?

Haggin Conditions

Haggin is pretty thin right now. The dump that gave Georgetown knee-deep powder has melted off quickly. Show-boat hill was thin with plenty of bare spots, same with the bench above. The cornice also was thin with bare spots right above the cornice and sketchy conditions beyond the cornice to the west.

Haggin

I rode Haggin on Thursday. Definitely some bare spots showing but still lots of coverage. Had a pretty good bluebird session, though I was wishing at times for some spring wax on my board.

Rode for a few hours yesterday at Raynolds where there is a lot less snow. The warm weather has turned what little there is into a gooupy, board-grabbing soup. I was fine when fully powered but in the lulls would sink down nearly to the ground.

Barring a trip to the Beartooths I think its time to hang up the snowboard for the season and start hitting the water.

I was there on

I was there on Friday...melting fast...

Looks like a pulse of cold air, wind and snow for Sat Night and

again on Sunday. I'm going to camp in West Yellowstone Sat night and kite Sunday and Monday in IP if anyone cares to join in the fun, come on down...

Monday

I should be able to get the day off on Monday and join Noah. Anyone else from Bozeman interested in sharing a ride for the day?
