Memorial Day Weekend

Hey guys- After weeks of solid work I'm finally able to take these few days off with the rest of the country. I was planning on heading up beartooth pass, but if the snow is gone/terrible, then I'd totally be down for hitting the water. What are everyone else's plans?

There is gonna be a few of us

There is gonna be a few of us heading out to Clark Canyon reservoir near Dillon. We will be camping there all weekend starting on Friday.

Julian, I will be camping

Julian, I will be camping out on Canyon Ferry Lake on Saturday and Sunday, maybe Monday too if you're interested.

Beartooths

Kited Top of the World and Long Lake areas on Sunday. Inconsistent winds and very sticky snow, but good to get out! Still 3-5 feet and more coming with this next system. West Summit and Reefer Ridge looked very windswept. Should be a few of us WY kiters up there Sunday and Monday. Getting my usual cabin at Painters Outpost.

Waiting until the last minute

I'm waiting to see what the weather holds. I'll post my plans as soon as I have them dialed.

Cold

I'm looking at the low of 35 at night and will probably not be camping out. Typical Montana Memorial weekend weather.

Yeah it's not the greatest

Yeah it's not the greatest camping weather. Looks like there's some snow heading for Beartooth Pass, though!

Is anyone still planning on beartooth pass?

It looks like the road will be closed, but with the new snow it might be worth the hike in. Anyone interested?

Biggies

About to load up and head for 14A, Baldy/Little Baldy...

Beartooth Pass

Well I did make it up to the pass and I had the whole place to myself. What gives, guys?! It was pretty good conditions: fresh cheesecake and lit on my 13m Frenzy and 13m Gin Zulu. Here's a little video for you guys to see what it was like:

There was still plenty of snow at the park and ride spot just west of Long Lake. Get up there before it's gone!
